One: mental escape. Some people opt for a massage to relief stress and others will take a vacation, but video games give me a mental vacation. Two: excitement; there is nothing like playing your favorite video games and winning and often, especially with the awesome online play you can enjoy these days! Last on the list of cake-toppers, but most certainly not the least: sports video games like NFL ones get me through the lengthy off season—where I really go crazy without my favorite sports to watch!

Sometimes my sweet husband makes me laugh without quite meaning to do so. Last night he was delighted with himself because he used a cable which shows whatever is on his notebook computer screen on our large LCD flat TV. He told me that now we would be able to watch movies and documentaries from the web on our LCD flat TV. I hated to burst his bubble but I had to explain to him that we could do that all along. You see we have a Playstation 3 and we can use it to browse the web. Hence we have been able to watch online documentaries and movies on our LCD flat TV all along. My husband called me a know-it-all because it was something he just had not realized. I showed him how it can be done and even he admitted that the sound quality was better when we used the PS3 system to watch online videos on our LCD flat TV because it came through our home theater system surround sound speakers. The truth is that we probably have more technology at our disposal than we know how to use. For instance I think our Blu-Ray player connects to the web too, though I have never tried it.

In Flight Movie Triggered Idea to Buy LCD Flat TV

http://www.lcdhometheaterplasmatvs.com/2010/April/In-Flight-Movie-Triggered-Idea-to-Buy-LCD-Flat-TV.htm

This past weekend I had a coast to coast non-stop flight, which meant I was in a larger plane than I'm used to traveling in. The great thing about non-stop flights is that they offer in flight movies on the LCD flat TV, which is great for helping pass the time. Since I was in a bulkhead seat, the LCD flat TV was right in front of my face, so I pulled out the ear plugs that go with my iPod and plugged them into the seat so I could have sound while watching the movie.

Since my husband and I are the kind who haven't yet invested in a LCD flat TV, I couldn't help but admire the quality as I watched the movie. It was one of the recent box office hits, and one I'd actually wanted to see, so I was able to really enjoy the movie from the comfort of my seat and on the LCD flat TV.

By the time my flight landed, I'd convinced myself that my husband and I definitely needed an LCD flat TV in our home. My husband greeted me with a smile, and I told him that I'd just had the best idea, that we should get an LCD flat TV. He laughed and said he'd been trying to talk me into an LCD flat TV for the past three months and I'd seemed oblivious to his hints. I guess I had been because I don't even remember him commenting about wanting an LCD flat TV, but I've been so preoccupied with things lately that it didn't surprise me.

We both agreed that when I had a chance I'd see what kind of deal I could find for an LCD flat TV online. A few days later I had a free morning and decided to look online and after a bit of browsing I came across Magnavox 42" Widescreen LCD HDTV with USB Interface that I found for a great price at Shop For Home Theater whose online store can be found by visiting www.shopforhometheater.com. The price was great on the LCD flat TV, so I called my husband to let him know what I’d found. He agreed that we probably wouldn't find a better price, so I placed the order immediately. With the Easter holiday this weekend, we probably won't get it until sometime next week, but we've already said that as soon as it arrives, we're going to have a movie night where we curl up on the sofa and do nothing but watch movies. I can't wait.

Ever since I was a teenager, I have thoroughly enjoyed playing video games. I fondly remember the days when my friends would come over after school to play them. We always had a blast! Video games had always been a reliable source of entertainment for us. My friends and I just completed our first year at our local university. We are now all working and do not have as much time to play as we used to.

However, we all still continue to engage in our favorite past time whenever we can. Now that I am working full time, I have been experiencing quite a bit of stress. I knew of the perfect way to relieve my stress! I decided to browse a popular online superstore. I was determined to find a few new video games to add to my collection. I am so glad that I did! In only a matter of minutes, I was able to find and purchase Kingdom of Paradise for my PSP. My item even arrived safely at my home the very next week!

I called up all of my friends as soon as I received my purchase! Fortunately, my friends and I were able to get together on a day that worked with all of our schedules! We had an amazing time playing video games! I was also sure to share my wonderful online shopping experience with them!

We were so excited about our future residence, that we began planning for it at the beginning of the year! By February, Jim had finished purchasing all of the furniture that we would need. However, we were having some difficulty finding an affordable home theater to complete the apartment.

One afternoon, I began browsing a popular online superstore that my cousin Jeff had told me about. I am so glad that I did! The online superstore had an extensive inventory! I could not believe how easy it was to find an affordable home theater. In only a matter of a few minutes, I was able to buy the entertainment center of my dreams! My purchase even arrived at my previous apartment the following week!

Jim and I have been thoroughly enjoying our new apartment. We have even made quite a few friends that live in our building! Our home theater has been a great way to entertain our new neighborhood friends! I always make sure to tell them about my wonderful experience at my new favorite online superstore!

For instance my husband and I recently watched what I think is an important movie called The Stoning of Soraya M, which is based on a true story on our LCD flat TV. This movie highlights the atrocities that are still taking place in countries like Iran because of the theocracy and Islamic Sharia law that prevails there. I have uploaded the trailer for the movie The Stoning of Soraya M. I sincerely believe it is a movie that the whole world needs to see even though it was very disturbing to watch on our LCD flat TV and hear via our surround sound system. I felt sick on my stomach and it made me very sad and extremely angry first as a human being and second as a woman. Yet I am glad I watched it in such high quality on our large LCD flat TV because it made it all the more real. This film made me want to get more involved in helping the people of Iran. I have signed a few petitions and joined a few groups. Without my LCD flat TV and other technology I might never know that such atrocities even take place.

As the years went on, we put in a surround sound system to enhance our movie watching, which then was just hooked to our big box TV. I had to make an appointment to watch my movies on the week-ends as the kids took over, loving the surround sound system with their video games. It was really ok with me, I knew where the kids were, after all. Now, my kids are out on their own and still playing video games to relax and to keep in touch with friends states apart. They will forever keep up on the newest technology on their video games and have it be a part of their relaxation time. As for me, I miss all the surround sound gaming activities, but I can now watch a movie whenever I want.

Let met tell you, if there was ever a chance of anyone coming in between me and my video games that train left the station a long time ago. Maybe when video games were not as much as fun and exciting as they are today someone had a chance of disengaging me from my video games, but doing that today has become impossible. In fact, whenever anyone tries to get my attention while I play my video games something very interesting happens. The video games I play as so mesmerizing that just looking at the action on the screen can be quite hypnotic and they tend to captivate the attention of those who attempt a separation between me and my games and they end up hooked on the video games as much as I am. The reality of today’s video games is that there is just nothing out there that is as fun and recreational as these gods of entertainment and I still haven’t found anyone that would give them up for anything else in the world.

Have you ever had one of those days where you just felt down and you really didn’t have the energy to get anything done? We have all had those days, which I call Sundays, because I am so tired from the week prior and all of the work. However, whenever I find myself in that sort of somber state, video games come to the rescue for me. I love playing video games on the weekends and after long days of work because they really uplift me and bring me back to par; allowing me to forgo any mental stresses and ailments that I may be experiencing and really get away from what is on my mind—sort of like playing video games offers me this rare mental escape. I always find that even when I am in a lethargic mood, after playing a few hours of video games – generally online with my brothers – I am happy, giddy and gaily again!

If you know how me and my brothers are, then you would know that we love to play each other Xbox 360 video games online in the evenings, where the smack talking ensues and where we really try to bring our A game. However, in order to actually play Xbox 360 video games against each other online you both need a copy of the game over at your house. So I have been emailing them and talking with them about what Xbox 360 video games that they just got, this way I can easily make a list of the ones that I want to shop online for and purchase. I plan on getting online over the weekend and upping my collection of Xbox 360 video games to the same ones they have. This way when it comes time for online battles, we will all have the same games, and some more options as to which games we want to play.

Each type of television has pro's and con's that really should be the deciding factor in buying a home theater LCD flat TV, a Plasma HDTV, a 1080p widescreen HDTV or just a Plasma TV. Before plunking down those hard earned dollars take a few moments to consider if the home theater TV you have your heart set on is suitable for the size of the room you plan to put it in, is this Plasma HDTV a good all around selection for adults and kids TV viewing, and I also would consider the type of programming the new home theater LCD flat TV will be showing most often. Like for kids and video games for example. A eighty inch widescreen home theater TV is not the best choice if video gaming is what the TV will be used most for. If this new home theater Plasma TV will be mainly used by adults watching movies, sporting events and regular TV programming then the rule of thumb is to buy as big a screen size as will comfortable fit the room and your budget. I personally like the new Plasma TV offerings for several reasons. One reason is the cost has continually been coming down from the days when these TV's cost more than most people could afford. Not so now.The Plasma TV set's are able to deliver very accurate colors with minimal blurring when watching fast motion TV programming. Programming such as sporting events and action movies. just my kind of TV viewing the majority of the time. I also like to have the home theater TV mounted on a wall so it is out of reach of little hands. This brings me to a neat item for the kids to use when watching my home theater Plasma TV. The 1-DEVICE KID-FRIENDLY UNIVERSAL REMOTE control I found online at Shop For Home Theater.
Located online at http://www.shopforhometheater.com/ I found this kids friendly universal remote they can use and this way I will always know, at least hopefully, where the main remote control for the home theater system is at. My two and a half year old grandson likes to play in the dogs water bowl. His mother has told him not to do this so many times but still he insists on plating in just about any supply of water he can find. I found the remote control to my TV in the dogs water dish the last time they visited and as you can imagine I had to buy a new control. Hopefully this children's remote will prevent this from happening again.

How Mom and Dad Ended up with a Plasma TV

http://www.lcdhometheaterplasmatvs.com/2010/February/How-Mom-and-Dad-Ended-up-with-a-Plasma-TV.htm

Last night the phone rang and it was mom. I hadn't talked to her and dad in a while, because they'd been on vacation in Florida visiting my aunt. She called to tell me how the trip was, and also to ask if I could come over sometime soon. She said that dad had something he wanted me to see. Now I really figured that they'd brought something back from Florida with them, but when I asked mom what it was that he wanted me to see, she said it was their new Plasma TV.

Had I heard her correctly? Did mom just say they'd bought a Plasma TV? I repeated it back to her and she confirmed that dad had bought a Plasma TV. Since I really didn't understand how they could have got home that particular day and already they have a Plasma TV, I decided to ask questions about when and where they had bought it.

Mom said that dad really wanted to tell me the story about the Plasma TV, so when he told me that I should act interested and surprised, as though I was hearing it for the first time. I promised that I would do just that and mom proceeded with the story. Apparently my uncle has a Plasma TV and dad commented on it after watching it for a few nights in a row while they were in Florida. Dad also commented that he figured the Plasma TV was real expensive since he'd seen them in the stores and walked right past them because he wasn't willing to pay the price. He went on to ask my uncle if he could get a Plasma TV cheaper in Florida. Apparently when dad asked that question, my uncle pulled out the computer and showed him the 42" Plasma 720p 600mhz Black. Model - 42PQ30C that he found at Shop For Home Theater whose online store can be found by visiting www.shopforhometheater.com. Dad was surprised at the price that my uncle had paid for the Plasma TV and said that he wouldn't mind having one for that price.

Mom said that at that point they called her into the living room, showed her the TV on the screen and asked what she thought about them buying one. She gave it the go ahead, and my uncle walked him through the ordering process and had it sent to my parent’s home. They were home two hours and the Plasma TV arrived. Looks like I'm going to take my husband with me so that he can help dad set up the Plasma TV since dad doesn't know a whole lot about that kind of thing. I also have to remember to act surprised when he tells me the story that I've now heard.

Over the past few months my husband and I have made our upstairs living room a great place to be in terms of entertainment technology. There is a large 52 inch LCD flat TV in our living room. There is also a Playstation 3 and an excellent home theater system comprising of a high definition Blu-Ray disc player and the matching surround sound system. We use our new LCD flat TV and home theater system to watch movies catch our favorite TV shows and play video games. Everyone in the family loves it. The set up in our living room has made it a very cool place to be when looking for relaxation and entertainment.
It was not until recently that I realized what we really have in terms of entertainment technology. I was downstairs in the basement working while my husband watched one of the Star Trek Blue Ray movies from the series I got him for Christmas. Because of our powerful surround sound system I could hear the dialogue and music from the movie like I was in the same room even though I was all the way downstairs in the basement and the living room is upstairs in a different part of the house. I thought then that we really do have quite the impressive set up in our living room.

Running Routes with Video Games

My go to video games normally always are either shooters or racing titles. I have like two sports games that I picked up years and years ago which were doing nothing but collecting dust on top the ten-inch sub adjacent to my entertainment center. A friend who is huge into anything and everything football suggested we throw the digital pigskin around. I warned him the most recent NFL title I have is from 2007. He was cool with it and so broke the two-year stint of never opening this video games case. I bought this specific title because at the time, Shawn Alexander of the Seahawks graced the cover and he was my favorite running back.

It was actually really funny to see the rosters of all these 07-08 teams. I love watching football but had forgotten how fun it can be to run a swing route for a 50-yard touchdown, which had my buddy up in arms. I mine as well not had a D-line because it took only a couple series for my buddy to score but I struck just as fast. Turns out football video games are a great two player experience.

The past few days I've had the flu and if it weren't for the LCD flat TV I think I may have lost my mind. I've been spending most of my time in the bed and the LCD flat TV has been a life saver. The first day I was sick, I didn't feel like doing anything but sleeping, but then once I had slept all that I could, I didn't feel like reading and staring at the walls wasn't my idea of a way to pass the time. After a while, my husband suggested that he bring the LCD flat TV in from our bedroom into the guest room, which is where I had been sleeping so that I wouldn't infect my husband or keep him awake at night with the coughing and sneezing.

Up until that point, I hadn't even thought about bringing the LCD flat TV from our room, and had even been considering spending some time lounging on the sofa, but I didn't have to thanks to my wonderful husband. During the summer last year, I'd bought the Philips USA 19" Widescreen 720p LCD HDTV Monitor that I found for a great price at Shop For Home Theater whose online store can be found by visiting www.shopforhometheater.com for my husband for his birthday. He had mentioned wanting an LCD flat TV for our bedroom, and I figured that it would be the perfect gift when he turned 40. I was right. From the time he set up the LCD flat TV, he's watched the news in bed every evening followed by Jay Leno. What I didn't ever suspect is that I would be the one to really come to appreciate the LCD flat TV when I didn't feel like getting out of bed because of this flu.

This morning my husband mentioned that he was going to pick up some movies for me, so that I could watch them on the LCD flat TV while he was at work tonight. He's also promised to make dinner, and have some fruit sliced so that I can have access to it with minimum effort. I also hope that after my visit to the doctor tomorrow that he says that I'm no longer contagious and that I can actually start getting around people again. Having the LCD flat TV as my only friend has not been the most fun, plus I miss my children and all that has been going on with them at school. At least they can call me and tell me how their day is going, but that's definitely not enough. It’s time to say goodbye to the LCD flat TV and hello to the real world again.

Why Video Games Always Keep It Entertaining

This is the final race in a four race series for all the marbles. The sun is shining over the make believe Sedona, Arizona racetrack and my modified Lexus IS-F is trembling to break loose when that green light drops. The competition is stiff but I have come in first the past three races so now this is for nothing but pride and bonus points. Waiting for the timer to tick down, I’m thinking to myself this game looks like it could really be happening. The graphics are that good. Side note, there was a time when my grandma sat watching my brother and I play racing video games and at the end when my we were yelling at each other while vying for first place position she said, “I thought you guys were watching something on TV.”

The home theater explodes with sound as the green light flashes and the race begins. I get pinned outside in the first corner before going off track. Already in second to last this is going to take the best I got. By the end, I have made it to third with two in front. Braking late into the second to last turn, I run wide and the race is over. Hitting the restart button, it is time to try it all again. Video games over a home theater always keep me entertained.

My brother Douglas and I are starting to embody a Saturday weekend tradition of playing NCAA Xbox 360 video games online against each other to see who can best the other. This all started rather recently, actually. Last weekend he called me up so see if I wanted to play him some NCAA Xbox 360 video games online and do some classic bowl game match ups. We are rather even at this game, as I have found out, and it was so exciting that we both opted to play some more again this weekend. I am sure that he will text me on my cell phone in a few hours, when he gets back home from running errands and see if I am down to get a few NCAA Xbox 360 video games in. This time around, I am picking Florida, and he will be Alabama, we are going to rematch the SEC championship and see who wins. I can’t wait to get on Xbox Live and hand it to him again, as last time he served me pretty good, but this time around I plan on being the victor!

I guess most kids are like that these days. While he plays video games my son converses with the other players with a head set. Sometimes I think he is talking to me but it is his buddies from the video game. They discuss weapons and scores and who else is playing at the moment. It's a whole different scene from what I grew up with.

Yes, my son is crazy about video games. He just doesn't seem to tire of the games and looks forward to connecting with his friends while playing. I know the video games are his currency so when he misbehaves or is being stubborn about getting some chores done I know just what to do. The video games are off limits until the behavior turns around to my satisfaction or until the chores are done.

I really don't mind that my son is into video games. I'd rather know where he is and what he is doing than the opposite. For now, this video games craze works for us both.
