home theater, lcd flat tvWe started building our home theater last spring and spent the holidays enjoying it completely. A home theater doesn't have to be massive or expensive to bring lots of enjoyment to the family. We started with smaller, high quality components, figuring that we could upgrade as our budget allowed and use the previous equipment in individual bedrooms or even the kitchen. We don't use our home theater exclusively for TV shows or movies. Sometimes we hook up our digital cameras and look over our recent pictures, too.

Yesterday when I was looking at LCD flat TVs online, I ran across the one shown in the picture, the Haier 19" LCD HDTV/DVD COMBINATION, and decided that I'd love to have that for my kitchen. It comes with a built in DVD player and is a nice, compact shape. It weighs just 13 pounds, so if I want to work on a hobby, I can just move it to my craft room and enjoy an afternoon or evening of good entertainment while relaxing with knitting or sewing. I love the fact that this has a DVD player built into it. Since I'll be moving this unit around, I won't have to unhook the DVD player from it to turn every room in the house into a home theater.

This HDTV also comes with a USB port which is great because I'll be able to cable over to the computer so I can watch live streaming video, too. I keep my laptop computer in my hobby room, so I'm imagining the hours  of great entertainment that I'll have with this unit. After we got our home theater set up last spring, we noticed a big drop in the amount of money we were spending entertaining ourselves away from home. Dollar for dollar, our investment in our home theater components has paid off in a big way. There's little else in the home that we can do so much with, from listening to beautiful music to watching exciting movies.

I bought the new Haier 19" television at Shop For Home Theater located at /www.shopforhometheater.com, a site that has a lot of terrific products for home electronics and entertainment. I found a number of components we'd like to order for our home theater in the future, so I'll be going back to this site for our next purchase. Every time I go there I notice that their products are discounted, so when I want a good buy on quality electronics, I'll check there first for a good deal. We have had a good time building our home theater by using online resources, and are glad there are shops like this that have so much information on what a quality home theater needs.
