Video Games Aren't Just for Kids |

This past weekend, we were at a birthday party where it appeared that the adults had more fun than the kids. I think I've finally realized, we are only as old as we feel and this past weekend, from the sounds of laughter at the video games we were playing, we're all about 15 at heart. It was so much fun. I haven't laughed until I cried in so long, and it was wonderful.
My husband and I were at my best friends sons' birthday party. He turned 10-years-old and after some of the kids went home, he and a group of his friends started playing video games. We enjoyed watching them, but at around 8:30 or so that evening, the kids went upstairs to get ready for bed, and we 'so-called' grown ups decided we'd play some video games. We pulled out one of the video games we'd ordered him at Shop For Home Theater, whose online web store can be found at http://www.shopforhometheater.com/. We had all seen he and his friends playing the THRILLVILLE game and decided we wanted to try our hand at building our own theme park. We actually expected, we'd play the video games for a little while, but eventually we'd play some music and chat for the rest of the evening. Boy, were we ever wrong! We all took turns playing video games until almost 2 in the morning! At around midnight, we were laughing so loud, the birthday boy came downstairs to ask what on earth we were doing that was so funny. When he saw we were playing his new video games, he wanted to stay up and play along with us. His mother assured him, he'd have plenty of time to play the following day, but right then it was too late for him and he should go upstairs and go back to sleep. He did, but we could tell he would have much rather played video games. My husband and I loved the Thrillville game so much, we decided to order it for ourselves the very next day, after we had a little sleep. After all the fun of the evening, we decided to get together with our friends once a month for video games night. We'll have it at different houses each month, but the idea is to play video games. I can't wait. It's going to be so much fun and guaranteed laughter. |
